This print is from an original charcoal and pastel drawing of miners at the end of their shift at the Six Bells Colliery in Abertillery. The art print is typical of the work of acclaimed Welsh artist Valerie Ganz who was famous for her paintings and drawings of miners. Ganz went down into the mine to better understand the experience of miners working underground. Her work is a celebration of miners and she has made art about all aspects of the miner's life, working at the coal face, having a break with their colleagues, and even showering after their shift.
This print is made using archival ink and paper to safeguard against fading.
