Fascinated by enclosed outdoor spaces, Ellie’s work aims to capture the shelter, safety, fertility, peace, pleasure, and refuge only a garden can provide. Within the theatre of the garden, Ellie illustrates scenes of joy, surprise intimacy and communication with nature, using a colour palette influenced by her upbringing in South-East Asia.
