Designed and hand-made by the Polish-born artist Maciej Habrat, each whale is created by sprinkling different coloured powdered glass onto float glass and then the glass is fused in a kiln. As a result of this process every piece is different. The whales are transparent but infused with bubbles and the powdered glass looks as if it is held in suspension and catches the light to great effect.
Each figure comes in luminous colours and some models are made that extra bit special by fusing 24-carat gold into the glass
