Mixed media of Pwll Du Bay as seen from the coast path above by artist R N Banning. This beach has a rich history associated with the limestone quarry in the cliffs. Limestone was exported to Devon from as early as the 1600s. The hillside above the beach is still scarred by the slides where the stone was pushed down to the boats. The pebbles on the storm beach originated in the quarry itself. As a geologist this beach has always fascinated the artist.
