R.N. Banning
I was born in Liverpool but have spent most of my adult life in Wales. It was when I met my wife to be, that I visited Gower in South Wales, and decided immediately that this was where I wanted to live.
I have come to know the Gower peninsular well, both through studying geology in Swansea University and through fishing and boating around the coast, which is probably why I paint so many rocks and boats, but it was the unspoilt beauty of Gower which was, and still is my major inspiration. I paint there whenever I can and probably will for the rest of my life.
