Les Brooks started making sculptures out of old washing machines, bikes and boilers only a couple of years ago. He had been a builder all his life but because of failing health issues, he could not do this trade anymore.
It wasn’t until he decided to buy a welding machine and made a silver rose for his girlfriend on Valentine’s Day, that he realised his potential.
Since then, Les has designed poppies, daffodils daisys and a whole host of insects and animals. The demand for these grew. Two of the poppies were put on the field in the South of France to commemorate the soldiers who gave their lives in the wars.
